The Pump Shed Australia

The Franklin Electric DrivE‑Tech Solar SUB DC 0.37kW Bore Pump System is a complete solar-powered submersible pumping package designed for stock watering, tank filling, remote properties and off-grid rural water systems.

Available in four pump sizes, the system can be selected for either higher-head bore applications or higher-volume water transfer. The variable-speed solar drive automatically adjusts pump performance to suit the available solar power, helping maximise water production throughout the day.

Key features:

  • 0.37kW / 0.5HP solar bore pump system
  • Solar DC powered—not a standard 240V or 415V mains pump
  • Four pump options from 18 to 60 LPM
  • 4-inch submersible pump configuration
  • 32mm / 1¼-inch BSP discharge
  • Variable-speed operation according to available sunlight
  • Suitable for livestock watering, tank filling and remote rural water supply
  • Franklin Electric pump, motor and solar-control technology
  • Designed as the current replacement for selected 0.37kW Fhoton SolarPAK systems

Package includes:

  • DrivE‑Tech Solar SUB DC motor and drive
  • Selected Franklin FPS solar pump end
  • DrivE‑Tech SUB DC Stop Module
  • Mounting bracket
  • Splice kit
  • 32mm stainless-steel manifold

Solar panels, panel mounting equipment, DC isolator, bore cable and installation are sold separately unless specifically included in a customised package.

Pump selection must be based on total dynamic head, including bore pumping level, vertical lift, pipe length, pipe diameter and friction loss. Contact The Pump Shed Australia if assistance is required selecting the correct model.

Solar Performance — Legacy Franklin Selector Reference Only

Important compatibility notice: The following figures were derived from Franklin’s older Fhoton-style selector and performance curves. Franklin has not yet confirmed that these results apply unchanged to the current 2026 DrivE-Tech Solar SUB DC packages.

The legacy 18 LPM and 45 LPM pumps are close pump-build matches. However, the legacy 25 LPM system uses a different pump-family designation, while the legacy 60 LPM curve is based on a five-stage pump and the current package uses a four-stage pump. These figures must therefore be treated as preliminary legacy reference information, not confirmed performance for the current packages.

The selected operating points have been kept within the blue curve area shown on the legacy Franklin graphs. The solid dark-blue lines are constant-head curves and the pale dashed-blue lines are voltage lines. They are not presented here as a warranty boundary.

One-Panel System — 1 × 460 W High-Voltage Panel

How to read this table: Each row shows the approximate minimum and maximum total dynamic head taken from the legacy selector curve, together with the approximate flow at each endpoint. These values are legacy reference figures only and have not been confirmed by Franklin for the current 2026 DrivE-Tech Solar SUB DC pump packages.

Pump variant Minimum head Approx. flow at minimum head Maximum head Approx. flow at maximum head
18 LPM 2 m 22 LPM 41 m 6 LPM
25 LPM 2 m 33.5 LPM 31 m 12 LPM
45 LPM 2 m 56 LPM 16 m 23.5 LPM
60 LPM 2 m 79 LPM 21 m 5.5 LPM

Panel-voltage note: A one-panel system requires a suitable high-voltage solar panel. A standard lower-voltage panel may not provide sufficient operating voltage, even when its wattage appears adequate. Confirm the panel’s Vmpp and compatibility before ordering.

Two-Panel System — Two Package Panels Connected in Series

How to read this table: Each row shows the approximate minimum and maximum total dynamic head taken from the legacy selector curve, together with the approximate flow at each endpoint. These values are legacy reference figures only and have not been confirmed by Franklin for the current 2026 DrivE-Tech Solar SUB DC pump packages.

Pump variant Minimum head Approx. flow at minimum head Maximum head Approx. flow at maximum head
18 LPM 2 m 27.5 LPM 61 m 10.5 LPM
25 LPM 2 m 43 LPM 51 m 14.5 LPM
45 LPM 2 m 72 LPM 30 m 11 LPM
60 LPM 2 m 104 LPM 30 m 37.5 LPM

Panel-voltage note: The two panels must be connected in series to increase the available array voltage. Final suitability depends on the panels’ actual Vmpp, voltage under operating temperature, available sunlight and system losses. Confirm the current supplied panel specifications before ordering.

Website selection note: The values above are a performance guide only and are not a substitute for a complete solar-pump selection. Actual results depend on the bore, pumping water level, total dynamic head, pipework, fittings, valves, required outlet pressure, solar-array size, panel orientation, available irradiation, temperature, cable length and installation. Confirm the required flow, daily water volume and total dynamic head before ordering.

Franklin solar pumping systems can be configured for farm water supply from bores and dams, providing off-grid water for livestock, tank filling, irrigation and remote troughs. Correct pump, solar array and any required shroud or pontoon should be selected using the water-source depth, daily water demand, pipe distance and elevation.

Disclaimer: Flow rates shown are manufacturer-published performance figures obtained under controlled testing conditions. Actual flow will vary depending on available sunlight, solar-array size, pumping head, bore water level, elevation, pipe size, pipe length, fittings, valves and system design. Flow rates are provided as a guide only and should not be relied upon as guaranteed performance.
