The Pump Shed Australia
The Australian-made Philmac Full-Flow Foot Valve is installed at the submerged end of a pump suction line. It allows water to flow towards the pump while helping prevent the suction pipe from draining when the pump stops.
An integrated strainer helps prevent larger debris from entering the suction line. The lightweight thermoplastic construction provides impact, UV and corrosion resistance for rural, irrigation, stock-water and general water-transfer systems.
This is a genuine Philmac product. It is not manufactured by Franklin Electric but can be used with compatible Franklin surface-pump installations.
What the Product Does
- Helps maintain water in the suction line and pump prime
- Prevents reverse flow when the pump stops
- Helps prevent larger debris entering the suction pipe
- Provides a female BSP threaded suction-line connection
- Can be converted into a non-return valve by removing the filter
Compatible Pumps and Applications
Best suited to:
- Franklin ADJ self-priming jet pumps
- Compatible surface transfer and centrifugal pumps
- Tank, dam and creek water transfer
- Irrigation and stock-water systems
- Suction-lift pumping installations
It may only be used with Franklin MH, EVR or CPS75 pumps where the suction system is correctly designed and the pump remains properly flooded or primed. A foot valve does not make a non-self-priming pump self-priming.
Not intended for Franklin FPS or Solar SUB DC submersible bore pumps.
What Is Included
- One genuine Philmac full-flow foot valve
- Matching fitted inlet strainer
What Is Not Included
- Suction hose or pipe
- Male BSP adaptors
- Thread tape or sealing compound
- Pump, priming equipment or installation
- Float rig kit
Installation and Selection Warning
Install the foot valve at the lower end of the suction line, fully submerged and in the correct flow direction. Match the valve to the pump inlet and suction-pipe size. The suction line must remain airtight, adequately supported and correctly sized. An undersized valve or leaking suction connection can restrict pump performance or prevent the pump from priming. Follow Philmac’s current installation instructions.
