Franklin Resimatic ART Automatic Pump Controller

The Franklin Resimatic ART Automatic Pump Controller provides automatic start-and-stop control and dry-running protection for compatible 230V single-phase water pumps up to 1.5kW and 10 amps.

The Resimatic monitors both system pressure and water flow. Opening a tap causes the controller to start the pump automatically. When demand finishes and flow stops, the controller shuts the pump down after approximately 10 seconds.

Starting pressure is adjustable between 1.5 and 3 bar, allowing the controller to be matched to the requirements of the pump and water system. An integrated pressure gauge allows the system pressure to be checked during installation and operation.

The ART Automatic Reset Test function periodically attempts to restart the pump after a dry-running shutdown. This allows the system to resume operating automatically when the water supply returns, without requiring an immediate manual reset.

Installation and selection warning

The Franklin Resimatic ART is not a variable-speed controller and does not regulate the motor speed or maintain a selected outlet pressure. It automatically starts and stops the pump using pressure and flow sensing.

The pump must be 230V single phase, no larger than 1.5kW and have a full-load current no higher than 10 amps. Both the motor power and current limits must be checked before installation.

The adjustable starting pressure must be set below the pressure the pump can reliably produce after allowing for suction lift, pumping water level, elevation and pipe-friction losses. An incorrectly selected starting pressure can prevent the pump from starting correctly or cause unreliable operation.

Maximum working pressure is 10 bar and maximum water temperature is 50°C. The IP65 enclosure is not designed for immersion or flooding. Install the controller in the correct flow direction and provide suitable isolation and service access.

Electrical installation of the standard non-lead versions must be completed by a licensed electrician. The dry-running protection does not replace direct tank or bore water-level protection where positive level control is required.
