Franklin Pumptec Plus Single-Phase Pump Protection – 230V up to 3.7kW

The Franklin Pumptec Plus is an advanced pump and motor-protection system for compatible 230V single-phase water-pump motors from 0.37kW to 3.7kW.

It continuously monitors motor load and incoming voltage. When abnormal operating conditions are detected, Pumptec Plus disconnects the motor to help prevent damage and can automatically attempt a restart after the selected recovery period.

Push-button Snapshot calibration records the pump’s normal operating load, while front-mounted indicator lights provide quick fault and operating-status information without opening the enclosure.

Installation and selection warning

Installation and commissioning must be completed by a licensed electrician. Confirm that the motor is 230V single phase, uses a compatible motor design and is rated between 0.37kW and 3.7kW. The unit must be calibrated while the pump is operating under normal hydraulic load.

Incorrect calibration or restart settings can cause nuisance tripping or reduce the protection provided. The restart delay should allow sufficient time for a low-yield bore to recover before the pump restarts.

Pumptec Plus does not replace the correct Franklin capacitor/control box required by a three-wire submersible motor. The control box starts the motor, while Pumptec Plus monitors and protects the complete pumping system.

Pumptec Plus detects water-related faults indirectly through motor-load changes. It does not directly measure water level and does not replace a probe or float system where direct bore or tank-level control is required.

It is not suitable for 415V three-phase motors, solar pumps or variable-speed pump systems.
