Franklin FPS-3A 45 LPM 240V Three-Wire Bore Pump – Complete Pump, Motor & Starter Box

The Franklin Electric FPS-3A is a complete 4-inch submersible bore pump, motor and starter-box package designed for applications requiring increased water flow across moderate to high pumping heads.

Suitable for stock watering, tank filling, irrigation, domestic water supply, water transfer and general rural water systems, the FPS-3A range has a nominal duty flow of 45 litres per minute. Five motor and stage configurations are available to suit different pumping levels, elevations and pressure requirements.

Available Variants

Increasing the number of stages increases the available pumping head. The correct model must be selected using the required flow and total dynamic head—not bore depth alone.

A correctly matched external starter box is required for a three-wire motor and is included with every variant in this complete assembly.

The included starter box contains the motor-starting components. It should not be treated as complete dry-run, low-water-level, surge or system protection.

Electrical cable must be sized according to the selected motor, total cable distance, voltage drop, starting current and installation conditions.

The motor, included starter box and any protection equipment must be connected and commissioned by a licensed electrician in accordance with the supplied wiring information, manufacturer instructions and applicable regulations.

The 2.2kW and 3.7kW variants place a substantial starting load on a single-phase electrical supply. Available supply capacity and cable sizing must be confirmed by a licensed electrician before purchase.

Selecting the Correct Model

Total dynamic head must account for the pumping water level, bore drawdown, vertical elevation, required outlet pressure and friction loss through the pipework, valves and fittings.

The 45 LPM rating identifies the pump family and is not a guaranteed output under every installation condition. Actual performance will depend on the selected model and operating head.
