The Franklin Electric FPS-1B is a versatile 4-inch submersible bore pump range designed for water systems requiring approximately 25 litres per minute across low, medium and higher pumping heads.

It is particularly suited to household water supply, livestock trough systems, tank filling, small irrigation systems and rural water transfer. The range contains four complete pump-and-motor assemblies, allowing the required pressure and pumping height to be increased without moving into an unnecessarily high-flow pump range.

Available Models and Nominal Performance

The FPS-1B range generally operates across approximately 13–31 litres per minute, depending on the selected model and total system head. The 25 LPM figure is the nominal duty point—not a fixed or guaranteed output.

Complete Pump-and-Motor Assembly

Each model is supplied as a complete assembly containing:

• Franklin FPS 4400 Tri-Seal pump end

• Franklin 240V single-phase two-wire motor

• Built-in removable spring-loaded check valve

• Four-inch waterproof cable splice kit

• Three-year Franklin Electric warranty, subject to the applicable warranty terms

The Franklin two-wire motor does not require a separate external starter or motor control box.

FPS 4400 Tri-Seal Technology

Franklin’s Tri-Seal floating-stage system allows each impeller to move independently while maintaining an effective hydraulic seal. This design helps reduce internal water recirculation and protects the pump against wear when operating in groundwater containing small amounts of abrasive material such as sand.

Additional features include abrasion-resistant impellers and diffusers, a ceramic shaft sleeve, rubber discharge bearing and corrosion-resistant stainless-steel construction.

Electrical cable must be sized according to the selected motor, total cable distance, voltage drop and installation conditions. Electrical selection and installation must be confirmed by a licensed electrician.

Pump Selection

The required total dynamic head includes the pumping water level, bore drawdown, vertical elevation, required outlet pressure and friction loss through the pipework, valves and fittings.
