Franklin FPS-1A 18 LPM 240V Three-Wire Bore Pump – Complete Pump, Motor & Starter Box

The Franklin Electric FPS-1A is a complete 4-inch submersible bore pump and motor assembly designed for applications requiring moderate water flow at higher pumping heads.

Suitable for domestic water supply, stock watering, tank filling, irrigation and general rural water systems, the FPS-1A range has a nominal duty flow of 18 litres per minute. Three motor and stage configurations are available to suit different bore depths, elevations and pressure requirements.

Available Variants

Increasing the number of stages increases the available pumping head. The correct model must be selected using the required flow and total dynamic head—not bore depth alone.

A correctly matched external starter box is required for a three-wire motor and is included with this complete assembly.

The starter box contains the motor-starting components but should not be treated as complete dry-run, surge, low-water-level or system protection.

Electrical cable must be sized according to the selected motor, total cable distance, voltage drop and installation conditions.

The motor, included starter box and protection equipment must be connected and commissioned by a licensed electrician in accordance with the supplied wiring information, manufacturer instructions and applicable regulations.

Selecting the Correct Model

Total dynamic head must account for the pumping water level, bore drawdown, vertical elevation, required outlet pressure and friction loss through the pipework, valves and fittings.

The 18 LPM rating identifies the pump family and is not a guaranteed output under every installation condition. Actual performance will depend on the selected model and operating head.

The three-wire range provides additional motor and stage options for applications requiring greater pumping head than the smaller two-wire configurations can provide.
