Bore Pump Caps – Coated Mild Steel & 304 Stainless Steel with Lugs

These bore pump caps provide a strong cover over the top of a water bore while allowing the pump’s rising main and electrical cable to exit the bore casing.

Choose between economical coated mild-steel construction or corrosion-resistant 304 stainless steel with integrated attachment lugs for a compatible safety cable.

Material Options

Coated mild-steel bore caps

A practical and economical option for standard bore-pump installations. These caps have a female BSP rising-main connection but do not include safety-cable attachment lugs.

304 stainless-steel bore caps with lugs

Provide greater corrosion resistance for exposed outdoor and water-bore environments. These variants include integrated attachment lugs for connecting a correctly selected stainless steel safety cable.

The connection measurement refers to the rising-main connection size—not the bore-casing diameter.

Installation and Selection Warning

Confirm the bore casing’s inside and outside diameter, bore-cap dimensions, rising-main size, thread arrangement, electrical-cable entry and required sealing method before ordering. Do not select the cap from the pump’s discharge size alone.

The coated mild-steel variants do not include safety-cable attachment lugs. A separate approved safety-cable anchoring method will be required where a safety cable is used.

The Franklin price list does not provide a load rating for the stainless-steel attachment lugs. Do not assume the lugs can carry the entire suspended weight of the pump, motor, rising main, water column and electrical cable without confirmation from the supplier or installer.

The safety cable, grips and attachment method must be correctly selected for the total suspended load. Installation should be completed by an experienced bore-pump installer, and all openings should be properly sealed to help prevent contamination entering the bore.
